Sound barriers are mainly used for sound insulation and noise reduction on highways, expressways, elevated composite roads, and other noise sources. They are divided into reflective sound barriers with pure sound insulation and composite sound barriers combining sound absorption and sound insulation; the latter is a more effective sound insulation method. It refers to a wall-like structure installed beside railways and highways to reduce the impact of traffic noise on nearby residents.
