CVD diamond is a polycrystalline pure diamond material grown by chemical vapor deposition. It can be attached to the surface of the substrate, which is commonly known as 'diamond thin film', or it can be an independent diamond thick sheet (commonly known as diamond thick film). Since CVD diamond does not contain any metal or non-metal binders, most of its properties are similar to or the same as those of single crystal diamond. Therefore, it is widely used in advanced countries for heat sinks (heat dissipation devices) of high power density electronic devices, high-precision cutting tools, high-efficiency grinding wheel dressing tools, wear-resistant devices, etc. Compared with PCD tools, the biggest advantage of CVD diamond tools is high Smoothness and long service life, and the disadvantage is slightly poor impact toughness.
